Akatsuchi is a supporting character in the Naruto series and a minor Character the Boruto series. He is a shinobi from Iwakagure who repeatedly defended the Third Tsuchikage from numerous threats. After the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, he became the assistant of the Fourth Tsuchikage.
He was voiced by Kenta Miyake in the Japanese version and by Kyle Herbert in the English version.
Personality
As a person, Akatsuchi is a very friendly person who, as always, maintains a cheerful demeanor when things are calm. When he's completely obsessed with Ōnoki's flying skills, Akatsuchi acts very childish and overly excited, even when they're about to head into battle. His excitement also makes him inappropriate in many cases, for example, on Deidara for thinking he survived the fight with Sasuke despite him being a wanted criminal and an enemy who betrayed not only his village but also him. He also has a serious side, acting very composed and effective during battles to protect the Tsuchikage.
Akatsuchi is extremely loyal to the Third and later Fourth Tsuchikage, as evidenced by the fact that when Sasuke attacked the Kage meeting, Akatsuchi immediately decided not to leave Ōnoki's side in case he became critical during the fight. According to Deidara, Akatsuchi never lets Ōnoki out of his sight when he fights alongside him.
Appearance
Akatsuchi is a broad, large man in his twenties, resembling an overweight man with a round face, black eyes, brown hair, a large nose, chubby cheeks, and a chin. Like every shinobi from Iwakagure, he wears a red outfit with sleeves, over which he wears a brown vest, a yellow scarf around his neck, and a bandaged headband with the symbol of his village on it.
A few years ago, after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, Akatsuchi's appearance changed significantly. He now has a full beard and longer hair tied in a ponytail. His cheeks are no longer chubby, giving him a more serious look. His current attire lacks a scarf and headband, as he now wears a brown kimono and trousers.
