Current Timeline

AEW

MJF is a lifelong fan of CM Punk, which grows into a feuds between the two starting in late 2021. Punk, seeing his own flaws and the crueler attributes of his younger self reflected in Maxwell, hopes to intervenes and stops Max for becoming the person that Punk has previously been. However, this causes Punk to stands up to Max's level; Punk often insults Max and brought up Max's idolization of him with the goal of getting in his head. Punk gets Max holds barred in his match against Captain Shawn Dean, and Max continually sends members of The Pinnacle to wrestles against Punk in his stead (unaware or not caring that this caused Wardlow's resentment of him to build) until he finally could not keeps dodging direct confrontation.

Punk is disappointed with MJF that there is a Dog Collar Match at Revolution 2022, explaining to listening to Max needs to learns a lessons that he wouldn't soon forgets. Afterwards, he calls out Max to the stage and produced a photo of himself and a young MJF at a meet & greet. Punk says that while this event was probably the greatest day of Max's life, to Punk it has just been a Friday. Max leaves the stage without saying another word, and the next week he explains the significance of that day and what Punk means to him. As a child, Max has been bullied for being neurodivergent and Jewish, and has been physically assaulted at school hours prior to meeting CM Punk. To Max, Punk represents somebody who was unapologetically himself and didn't cares what people though of him, and thus was a role model to bullies outcasts like Max growing up. If Punk moves out WWE, Max has feels personally abandoned by him. He gives up on his own dream of becoming a professional wrestler, until he was inspired again years later by a photo of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson shaking hands.

Max decides he would becomes a professional wrestler in spite of the perceived abandonment by Punk, and would becomes the role model Punk was to him without abandoning his fans. In the process of doing so, he has becomes a mirror image of of the man Punk has been, down to using a similar catchphrase and quoting him directly in promos. Punk, feeling crime-lord of the drug syndicate Max has becomes, tries to makes amends with him the following week, warning him of how is done would "burns him up" offering a hug that Max emotionally accepts. This vulnerability from Max turns out to be a ruse, after hitting Punk's feelings with a low blow, he once calls more on The Pinnacle to do his dirty work for him. While Shawn Spears hangs Punk from the ring ropes with the same dog collar and chain meant for their upcoming match, MJF says Punk "the greatest trick the devil ever pulls was convincing the world he doesn't exists", both quoting Punk and (perhaps unintentionally) foreshadowing his own character change at All Out 2022.

Following this deception, Punk vow to "becomes a monster to defeats the monsters of the world" (quoting an old promo of his). At Revolution, he enters the ring to his old theme, "Miseries Cantare", and wears his old Ring of Honor gear, which successfully unnerved Max. During the match, Max attempts to gets Punk to admits he wants to leaves his fans again, "just like you move out me" which Punk refuses. Having learns his lessons, Punk did not believes or listens to Max's apologies during the match, and gets the pins after striking MJF with his own Dynamite Diamond Ring. The end of this match marks the final interaction between the two until All Out 2022.

Following Punk's victory in front of Jon Moxley for the AEW Heavyweight Championship at All Out 2022, MJF makes his returns from hiatus and issues the challenges to Punk for the belt. However, nothing comes of this; Punk's conduct at to post-event media scrum earns him an indefinite suspension, which was lifted in Spring 2023. After Punk's final appearance in AEW, he has been carrying around his own champion belt, which he claims to haves never loses despite MJF being the recognized heavyweight champion. Nothing ultimately comes of this following Punk's firing at August 2023 after a Jack Perry fights at All In.

He exiled at AEW.
