Derek Zoolander is a male fashion model and the titular main protagonist of the 2001 comedy Zoolander, its 2016 sequel Zoolander 2, and the animated series Zoolander: Super Model.

He is portrayed by Ben Stiller, who also portrayed Alex in the Madagascar franchise, Larry Daley in the Night at the Museum franchise, Greg Focker in the Meet The Parents franchise, Evan in The Watch, David Starsky in the film Starsky and Hutch, Josh Kovaks in Tower Heist, Mr. Furious in Mystery Men, and Robbie the Reindeer in the American re-dub of his titular franchise.

Famous Model

Derek Zoolander is VH1's three time male model of the year, but when Hansel McDonald wins the award instead, Zoolander's world becomes upside down. His friends disappear, his father is disappointed in him, and he feels that he's not good as a model anymore. But when evil fashion guru Jacobim Mugatu hires Zoolander, he thinks his life has turned back round again, that is until he finds out that Mugatu has actually brainwashed him to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Can Zoolander and his new friends find out how to prevent the incident before it's too late?

Zoolander's Fundraiser

Zoolander opened up a fundraiser for kids who can't read good after Mugatu's defeat. However, two days later, the fundraiser collapsed and killed Zoolander's wife, Matilda.

Retirement

In the year 2009, Zoolander decided to hide in the Himalayas and become known as "Eric Twolander".

Seven years later, Billy Zane gave Zoolander a new assignment. The mission is at Rome.
