| ~ Direct-i |
Direct-i is an analytical utility robot, that is tow cable deployed by Gyrowing pilots in "Star Fox Zero". It is designed for exploration and does not seem to be suited for combat.
Physical Appearance
Direct-i, like ROB 64, is obviously based on the R.O.B. accessory that manufactured for certain Nintendo Entertainment System games, but has the Star Fox team's uniform coloration, has pink eyes and the team's flying fox logo on the chest. It uses pincer hands to operate terminals. It is about as tall as Fox McCloud is.
History
Direct-i plays an important role when Andross's forces invaded Area-3 in an attempt to recover the Gigarilla, and Star Fox was ordered by General Pepper to access the Gyrowing in order to prevent the Gigarilla's capture. Fox eventually managed to locate and gain control of the Gyrowing, as well as activate the Gigarilla via the Direct-i application's scan function, thus having Gigarilla, with the Gyrowing's help, turning against Andross's forces before they could get it through the wormhole.
After the Zoness Mission is completed, Direct-i lends its hacking role to the Walker. However, redoing the missions The Key To Victory (at Area 3's Space Colony) and Covert Ops still has Direct-i available when Fox uses the Gyrowing.
Trivia
- Direct-i is actually equipped with laser weaponry as it can be seen during the Zoness mission.
