| ~ Goris |
Goris (born c. 2241) is a minor protagonist in the 1998 role-playing video game Fallout 2. He is an albino Deathclaw and a member of the Vault 13 Deathclaws, a highly intelligent sub-species created by the Enclave to guard the vault only to turn against their makers and embrace a peaceful lifestyle. Goris wishes to leave Vault 13 and travel across the Wasteland searching for knowledge, which the Chosen One of a tribal village can provide him.
Biography
The newest intelligent Deathclaw to be sent to Vault 13, having been there only a few months, he is also the son of Gruthar, the alpha of the pack. Goris is a scholar by nature, studying the Intelligent Deathclaws growing culture and comparing it to that of Human culture. Along with this, Goris would make frequent travels to various communities in the Wasteland, studying their cultures and how they came to be. Between afflicted with albinism and wishing to walk among Humans but knowing of his species' reputation, Goris began wearing an oversized brown robe to hide his appearance whenever he left the Vault, telling any too curious Wastelanders that he suffered a severe deformity he wished to hide. For an indeterminate amount of time, Goris traveled in the wasteland among the human population, learning as much as he could about their cultures.
In 2241, Goris would meet the Chosen One, a tribal who came to Vault 13 looking for a Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) to save their dying village of Arroyo. Intrigued by this visitor, Goris would reveal that his history to the tribal and his desire to leave Vault 13 and study various other cultures, having absorbed all the knowledge he could from the Vault. With a good reputation, the Chosen One accepted this offer and allowed to accompany them throughout their travels after acquiring Vault 13's GECK.
Depending on the actions of the Chosen One, the Enclave would learn of the Intelligent Deathclaw's rebellion and would send a strike team, led by the monstrous Frank Horrigan to purge Vault 13 of all it's inhabitants, with the vault security camera catching Horrigan personally killing Goris' father Gruthar. Should Goris be with the Chosen one at the time, he will sense the massacre occurring and rush to save his family only to arrive too late. Should Goris and the Chosen one not be travelling together at the time, Goris will be on one of his scholarly trips and will avoid the Enclave's purge. Regardless, Goris will be the only survivor of Vault 13 and desires revenge against the Enclave, should they still be on good terms and travelling together, he will follow the Chosen One on their quest to destroy the Enclave. Alongside Xarn (if the player frees him) he is the only Intelligent Deathclaw left in the Wastelands.

Trivia
- Goris is the only albino deathclaw seen in any Fallout games, except Fallout 4 where they are a high level enemy.
- Goris was designed by John Deiley, as was the whole Vault 13 in Fallout 2.
- Goris' motivations are caused by his fascinations of empires and civilizations that formed only to fall and was trying to discover the one common element among civilizations that eventually led to their downfall so he could devise a sort of 'cure'. But he was incapable of ever doing so, for he was trying (in vain) to understand humanity from the standpoint of a total non-human.
- Goris is the only Deathclaw companion in the canon Fallout games.
