Musa is one of the main characters in the Winx Club animated series. Her first appearance was in the second episode of the first season, Welcome to Magix. She is Tecna's roommate for the first three seasons and is the Fairy of Music.
The realm that she resides in the Magic Dimension is Melody, the realm of music. Musa is also the daughter of Ho-Bae and the late Matlin. Her boyfriend is Riven throughout the entire series.
She is voiced by Gemma Donati in the original Italian version, initially by Sarah McCollough, later by Anik Mattern in the Cinélume dub and, for the latter, the first two movies, Sarah Sido for the third movie, Lisa Oritz in the 4Kids dub who also voiced Amy in Sonic X, Romi Dames in the Atlas Oceanic dub, Kate Bristol in DuArt and World of Winx, Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld in the 3Beep dub in the English versions and Mariya Ise in the Japanese version.
Appearance
Musa has a light, almost pale skin tone, dark blue hair and thin dark blue eyes. While initially kept in short pigtails, Musa has let her hair grow out from Season 3 onwards thanks to a spell that lengthened it down to her waist, and has since styled it in many other ways, especially in comparison to the other Winx girls. Starting with Season 4, her hair is all loose.
In Season 1, she wears a red one shoulder crop top with baggy jeans. Her Magic Winx outfit is a sparkling red left-sided one strap top (similar to her red one shoulder crop top) with translucent pink fabric at the middle, a red mini skirt, and red knee-high wedge boots with purple headphones. In Season 2-3, Musa wears a checkered turquoise tube top with an orange belt on her hips and teal pants, with arm socks. Her Enchantix outfit is a magenta, pale pink and yellow strapless top that has a braided orange strap. She wears a puffy skirt with red and pink colors with diamond shaped detailing. Her red boots have been replaced with yellow barefoot sandals. In Season 4, Musa wears a pink shirt with white polka dots and short puff sleeves over a dark red long sleeved top. She also wears a reddish pink pleated skirt with a black belt, white socks, and red heels with white polka dots.
Personality and Traits
She loves music, dancing, singing and playing all instruments, but her favorite is the concert flute. Musa usually plays amazing music, but plays best when she is alone, by herself in Alfea in a quiet spot. Despite being the most tomboyish of the Winx Club, she is perhaps the most emotionally vulnerable, and she compromises by putting up a tough front. Her emotional weakness is probably a result from her mother's early death and father being far away. She is also a bit of a loner and has a crush on Riven, but they don't admit they like each other until the end of Season 2, when they start dating. Surprisingly (considering Tecna is the brain of the group), Musa gets the best grades of the group, as mentioned in the 15th episode of the first season. In Season 3, Musa admits she wanted to break up with Riven, but they later reconcile. Musa then takes a break from Riven in Season 4, and shows some feelings for Jason Queen, a music producer, but then is asked to sing at his wedding and reconciles again with.
