History

Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside

The game begins with Sam sitting in his bed while reading a comic book about his favorite superhero, Pajama Man, fighting a villain named Darkness. Suddenly, Sam's mother appears to remind the boy to pick up his socks and that tonight is the night that Sam will start going to sleep with the lights off. Sam insists that he is now brave enough to sleep without his bedroom light, but after his mother closes the door, Sam becomes frightened by the darkness of his room at night. Remembering how Pajama Man defeated Darkness in his comic book, Sam decides to go into his closet to capture Darkness himself. After finding his red cape, purple "Pajama Sam mask", flashlight, and lunchbox (which he calls his "Portable Bad Guy Containment Unit"), Sam, now as the superhero, "Pajama Sam", enters his closet but soon ends up falling down a portal to the Land of Darkness, where the sky is always dark.

While exploring the Land of Darkness, Sam gets caught by a rope snare set up by a group of sentient trees who confiscate Sam's mask, flashlight, and lunchbox and hide each of these objects in random locations. After freeing himself from the rope, Sam is greeted by a friendly female tree, who allows him to borrow the rope and encourages him to look for his missing items. During his search, Sam meets a wooden boat named Otto, who refuses to swim due to his fear of sinking, and an elderly minecart name King, who can't move due to his wheels being rusted to the mine tracks. Sam is able to help the two by using a wooden board to show Otto that wood can float in water and derusting King's wheels with oil, respectively. In turn, Otto and King agree to help Sam with his mission by giving him rides to other locations in the Land of Darkness.

After finding all three of his missing items, Pajama Sam goes to Darkness' bedroom, where he realizes that Darkness is locked inside his closet. Using a key hidden inside a cabinet, Sam unlocks the closet door, enters it, and nervously confronts Darkness. As the two talk, however, Sam begins to realize that Darkness is friendly but lives a lonely life because everyone is asleep when he comes out at night. Feeling sorry for Darkness, Sam offers to play a game with him and the two play Cheese and Crackers together. After a while, Sam decides to return home before his mother discovers his absence and accepts Darkness' offer to play again tomorrow night. Sam then returns to his bedroom, turns off his bedroom light, and peacefully falls asleep.

Pajama Sam 2: Thunder and Lightning Aren't so Frightening

While watching a Pajama Man cartoon on TV, Sam is startled by a thunderstorm. Wanting to stop the thunder and lightning, Sam grabs his cape and goes into his family's attic, where he finds himself in the sky. He soon finds a building called "World Wide Weather", where all of the world's weather comes from. After sneaking in a crate being brought inside W.W.W. in order to get past the company's guard, Bill Gate, Sam enters World Wide Weather and uses an employee's ID card to access the building's control room, where Thunder and Lightning work. After learning from Thunder and Lightning about how beneficial thunderstorms are, Sam begins to warm up to the two but accidentally trips over his cape and ends up hitting a red button that causes the four weather machines to break. Sam is then tasked with finding four sentient machine pieces that have gone missing: Wingnut, Velocimomometer, Snowflake Inspector, and Y-Pipe.

Sam manages to fix three out of the four weather machines before Thunder and Lightning receive a call from Mother Nature, World Wide Weather's CEO, who is suspicious of the unusual weather happening around the world and plans to personally go to W.W.W. to make an inspection, putting Thunder and Lightning's jobs on the line. Sam manages to fix the last machine right when Mother Nature arrives, saving Thunder and Lightning's jobs and stopping all of the world's crazy weather. As a reward for helping the company, Thunder and Lightning allow Sam to control the weather temporarily.

Pajama Sam 3: You Are What You Eat From Your Head To Your Feet

Sam ruins his appetite eating twenty boxes of cookies in an attempt to win a new Pajama Man action figure. All of a sudden, the cookies in Sam's last box burst out and run into his family's pantry. Putting on his cape, Sam follows the cookies into the pantry only for them to throw Sam down a hole, leading the boy to Mop Top, an island populated by sentient foods. Sam ends up at a party, where a group of fatty foods and sweets called "Snacks and Sweets Aggressive Majority" (or S.S.A.M. for short) are planning to take over Mop Top. After Sam accidentally offends S.S.A.M. by talking about being late for dinner, he is thrown into a prison cell, where he meets his cellmate, a broccoli named Florette, who is a delegate in a peace conference intended to end S.S.A.M.'s takeover. By creatively using food items around his cell, Sam manages to obtain the prison key and he and Florette escape with the latter heading to the Food Pyramid, a big building where the peace conference is being held.

Following Florette into the Food Pyramid, Sam meets Carrot, a hippie carrot who he had met before, and learns that Carrot is organizing the peace conference to prevent General Beetfoot from declaring war against the sweets. Sam offers to find four of the conference's delegates who have not yet arrived: Chuck Cheddar, Bean 47, Granny Smythe, and Pierre Le Pain. With the help of a donut named Sprinkle, Sam travels around the Headlands, Muscle Beach, the Foothills, and the Bluburbs in search of the four missing peace delegates.

Upon finding all four of the delegates, Sam heads over to the conference himself to check up on them. He finds them all arguing over which food group is the best. Overwhelmed with all the fighting, Sam gives a speech on how food groups should all work together. Inspired by Sam's speech, the delegates end their quarrel and General Beetfoot declares peace. Carrot thanks Sam for helping everyone and Florette offers him to stay on the island to help the foods make plans for the future only for Sam to remember that he is still late for dinner.

Pajama Sam: Life is Rough When You Lose Your Stuff!

Sam has just finished watching an episode of the Pajama Man TV series when he sees a commercial, offering Pajama Man fans to meet the superhero at the shopping mall. Excited at the opportunity to meet his hero, Sam asks his mother to drive him to the mall, which she agrees to. He then goes to his messy room to find his copy of the first Pajama Man comic book ever made only to find it being pulled into a pile of junk. After donning his cape, Sam jumps into the junk pile and ends up falling in a strange world called the Land of Junk. While there, he meets a dirty sock, who was separated from his matching sock due to his filth. After Sam agrees to help the dirty sock get himself clean, he learns that a half-eaten cheese sandwich took his comic book to the Grubby Corners Mall to be signed by Dr. Grime, Pajama Man's arch nemesis. At the mall's entrance, Sam is stopped by the mall's guard, who tells him to get a shirt, shoes, and socks in order to pass the dress code.
