Peppy, formerly known as King Peppy, is the overarching protagonist of DreamWorks' Trolls franchise.
He is the retired king of the Pop Trolls who has looked over his people for their safety. After his official abdication, he passed down his royal position to Queen Poppy. He is also the father of Poppy herself and Viva.
Portrayals
- In the first film, he was voiced by Jeffrey Tambor, who also voiced King Neptune in The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie and Big Nose in Disney's Tangled.
- In the sequels, Trolls World Tour and Trolls Band Together, he was voiced by Walt Dohrn, who also voiced Cloud Guy in the same franchise.
- In the animated TV series, he was voiced by David Kaye.
Abilities
King Peppy always had a round build since his daughter was a baby, but he was able to pull off impressive stunts. However, when Chef kidnaps Poppy's friends, he admits that he can't go after them because he's not as young as he used to be.
Physical Appearance
King Peppy is an orange troll with red troll hair that has grey streaks in it. He also has a red mustache and eyebrows that have grey streaks too. He wears green trousers and a green and blue waistcoat.
When he was young King Peppy wore a green leaf-like crown a blue-green button-up vest with a white shirt underneath it, a blue cape, and green trousers.
Personality
King Peppy always takes the welfare of his people his number one priority. He also shows a great care for his daughter, as the prologue of the movie showed him carrying a baby Poppy while leading the other Trolls away from the Bergens. His heroism and valor were the stuff of Troll legend. Quick with inspirational words of wisdom, King Peppy ushered in a new era of happiness and security in Troll Village. Now, it’s 20 years later, and King Peppy has become a grandfatherly elder statesman to the Trolls.
