| ~ Rachel Walker, Return to Rainspell Island |
Rachel Walker is one of the two main protagonists, alongside Kirsty Tate, in the Rainbow Magic franchise. She is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Walker, and they all live in Tippington Town. She meets Kirsty on the ferry to Rainspell Island and they would eventually have a fateful encounter with Ruby the Red Fairy, who was trapped under a large pot at the end of the rainbow. Since then, they have gotten into several fairy adventures.
In the movie, Rachel Walker is voiced by Grace Vance.
Personality
Rachel is an energetic and caring girl. She is known for her love for adventures, and she is athletic enough to race dragonflies and doing loop de loops to the point where she doesn't watch where she is flying. She is something of a mechanic, since she can fix bicycles and take some things apart to gain an understanding on how things work. She was initially doubtful of the existence of fairies and magic until she actually met the former. She seems to want to be something like a race car driver or a helicopter pilot when she becomes an adult. Other dream jobs include working at a sweets factory She is sometimes sympathetic towards the goblins when they are more vulnerable than they are and even to Jack Frost since he had always lacked friends and is generally unloved, despite everything he puts them through.
In the movie, she is noticeably more hesitant to share her belief in fairies than Kirsty is, which got to the point where she casts aside her locket to maintain her reputation.
Appearance
Rachel has golden curls with a wavy fringe that is pushed to the side, and she wears it in a ponytail, though she is seen with different hairstyles. The film reveals that she has blue eyes, when she usually has small lines for eyes in the books like all of the characters.
Trivia
- Rachel is the first character to be introduced in the first book.
- It is unknown why Jack Frost often freezes or imprisons Rachel, more than he does Kirsty or the other accompanying fairies.
