Shadow Chao is a minor character in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. They are a run-type Dark Chao resembling and raised by Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow Chao debuts in this game, and can be raised as a run-type Dark Chao.
Sonic X Shadow Generations
Shadow Chaois one of the collectable Chao, and can be found in one of the Sonic Generations remaster levels, namely Planet Wisp Act 2.
Sonic X Shadow Generations X Chao
In this webcomic, Shadow Chao was abducted by the Time Eater just like the Chao from Sonic's party. They explored the areas in White Space and at one point defended a group of Chao from a Black Arms warrior.
Sonic the Hedgehog (IDW Prublishing)
Shadow Chao would eventually become owned by Clutch the Opossum, who made them compete for him and abused them and his other Chao by keeping them in a crowded cage. The heroes eventually released all Chao, and Shadow Chao was seen playing in the garden, being given a fruit by Shadow.
Chao Tales
The series chronicles Shadow Chao's life in a Chao Garden throughout the year. Eventually, they and Sonic Chao protect the garden from Eggman's logging operations.
Personality
Similar to Shadow, Shadow Chao is rude and aloof, but ultimately cares for those around them.
