The Westalian Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division, better known as just WISE are the overarching protagonists of the Spy × Family franchise.
As its name implies, they are a branch of the Westalis Intelligence who is devoted to keep the peace between the nations of Westalis and Ostania. They are the agency which the spy Twillight works for and also the mastermind behind Operation Strix.
History
Little is known about the origins of the organization, however it's likely to have been formed after the war between Ostania and Westalis in order to maintain peace between the two nations despite their constant tension. Although it's based on Westalis, the organization has several bases and informants, including in the rival country of Ostania. They seem to have several high-profile personnel and equipment to assist in their espionage operations. One of these agents, Twillight, is widely regarded as the best spy in all of Westalis due to his expertise in his missions and disguises.
Spy × Family
After the mysterious assassination of a Westalian diplomat in Ostanian soil, WISE quickly suspects that the far-right National Unity Party, commanded by the mysterious Donovan Desmond might have been behind the killing in some way. They suspect that the assassination might have been commissioned in order to ignite a second war between the two countries. As such, the organization commences Operation Strix: a highly complex espionage mission that involves the creation of a fake family in Ostanian territory whose child can be used to infiltrate the elite school where Donovan's sons study, Eden College, in a way to approach Donovan during parent reunions and possibly uncover his conspiracy in detail.
Twillight is assigned for the mission. Now under the fake alias of "Loid Forger", he adopts the little girl known as Anya and puts her in the same class as Donovan's younger son, Damian Desmond. In the meantime, he also marries a woman by the name of Yor Briar in order to better keep up the appearance of the family, thus kickstarting the events of the series.

The organization is controlled by an unnamed director whose face remains hidden as of yet.
WISE personnel
- Loid Forger/Twillight: Considered the best spy in all of Westalis, Twillight is a war veteran who abandoned his real identity in favor of becoming a full-time spy. He's known for being a master of disguises and can assume almost any appearance he desires by using various kinds of disposable latex masks. Twillight also the front man of Operation Strix and the patriarch of the Forger Family, under the fake name of "Loid".
- Sylvia Sherwood/Handler: One of the higher-ups of WISE and Operation Strix' handler. Sylvia was also a war veteran who used to be Twillight's mentor. During Operation Strix, she becomes Loid Forger's main contact and constantly checks up on him when needed.
- Fiona Frost/Nightfall: Another spy of WISE. She's Twillight's former apprendice who also fancies him in secret and is jealous of his marriage with Yor. Fiona is known for having the incredible capability of hiding her true emotions, oftentimes coming across as cold and expressionless. As a coverup, she works at the Berlint Hospital where Loid also works as a front, and is responsible for giving him mission details.
Allies
- Franky Franklin: Franky is Loid's best friend ever since their times in the war. He works as an informant for WISE, with his base of operations being centered in a tobacco store, which he works as a front. Although not an official member of WISE, he frequently shows up to help in Operation Strix by providing information and faking documents when necessary. Franky is also a good friend of the Forger Family and especially Anya, who he has a rather friendly bond with.
- Anya Forger: The adopted child of Loid and the harbinger of Operation Strix. Although, technically, she wasn't supposed to be aware about the existence of the mission at all, Anya still managed to find out about it by reading Loid's mind using her esper abilities. She's the one responsible for infiltrating Eden College and getting close with Damian Desmond for the sake of the mission, indirectly making her a spy and a core ally to WISE.
- Yor Forger/Thorn Princess: The wife of Loid Forger and an ostanian assassin part of an organization known as "The Garden". Although she isn't aware of her husband's true identity nor Operation Strix' existence, she still does play an important role in the mission, thus making her an indirect ally.

Trivia
- WISE's emblem is an eye pointing towards the right, symbolizing the organization's focus and vigilantism on the east.
- A running gag in the series is the fact that most of the fake names coined by the spies will contain some reference or synonym to forgery or fraud. This can be seen on some of Twillight's fake aliases, such as Roland Spoofy and Loid Forger, as well as the fake tennis player alias of Fiona Frost, Nafalia Foney (pronounced "phony").
- In order to indicate that a character is an agent of WISE, Tatsuya Endo will usually draw the WISE logo somewhere on their outfits. This trait is even carried over to their disguises, as Loid usually sports his WISE brooch no matter what outfit he's wearing. It's still unknown what is the in-universe explanation for this.
- The exterior of the WISE HQ is modelled after the SIS Building, the real-life headquarters of the United Kingdom's Secret Intelligence Service.
