Z Com is an international military organization in Plague Inc., exclusive to the Necroa Virus DLC. It is dedicated to preventing the player's zombies from destroying the world, and therefore serves as the main antagonistic force for the Necroa Virus plague type.
Description
Z Com is a military organization whose main goal is to protect humanity from the zombie apocalypse. Some time after world governments admit that the player's Necroa Virus "can trigger pathological aggression in corpses", Z Com will found themselves in a single country, usually one that has not been severely affected by the zombie outbreak yet. This Z Com base is initially somewhat weak but will strengthen itself over time, taking over the country's armed forces and establishing a new government if the old one has fallen. This new government can continue research for a cure, although a cure for the Necroa Virus is moot at that point.
Among Z Com's activities are establishing safe zones for civilians, forming dedicated Kill Teams, constructing large fortresses, and recruiting civilians to aid the combat effort. Once Z Com deems its origin country sufficiently safe, they will send a plane to another less ravaged country to establish a similar base there. The new base will start off weak just like the first one, but its development can be sped up as other bases send more supplies via smaller planes. This process will repeat itself indefinitely unless the Z Com bases are destroyed.
To stop Z Com from strengthening themselves and establishing more international bases, the player must overwhelm their forces through zombie attacks. Once all Z Com bases have been destroyed, the organization is permanently defeated and humanity is left virtually defenseless.
Trivia
- The name of this organization is a reference to XCOM.
- If the player opts to never create zombies and instead kills humanity slowly through normal symptoms, Z Com will never be established.
