Altivo is the tritagonist of DreamWoks' 3rd full-length animated feature film The Road to El Dorado
He is a who stallion who was originally a war horse that belonged to Spanish captain Hernán Cortés. He would later reluctantly join Miguel and Tulio on their quest to find El Dorado after chasing for an apple that fell off of Cortés' ship during a violent storm. Soon after their close bonding, he would later belong himself to the duo after Cortés.
He is voiced by the famous actor who voiced random characters, Frank Welker.
History
Altivo is first seen when Cortés announces that they sail "to conquer the New World" getting startled by the gunshots into the air causing him to force Cortés own wine to spill onto him, angering the tyrant. He is next seen on Cortés ship and sees a man with a tray full of apples but as he tries to eat them, the man refuses to hand them over, much to Altivo's annoyance.

Physical Appearance
Altivo is a white horse with gray mane on his neck. His snout and mouth is dark pink. Altivo has light grey stalkings on his legs. He has grey dock tail and black hooves.
Personality
Initially, Altivo was a war horse who is abused by Hernàn Cortés. But, he turned loyal to both Miguel and Tulio after the adventure to El Dorado. In general, Altivo can be a good and loyal friend when he is treated with kindness and cares for the two Spanish con artists. Altivo is highly expressive, conveying a range of emotions and reactions whenever he doesn't get want he likes, which are apples.

- When Altivo, Miguel, and Tulio arrive in El Dorado, Altivo moves his mouth as if he was speaking English.
- His name means "haughty" in Spanish.
