Diddlysaurus is a minor character in The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, serving as the titular deuteragonist of the episode "The Dastardly Deed of the Devious Diddlysaurus" and the overarching protagonist of the episode "The Taxing Trauma of the Tattle Trials Part 1".
Diddly is a dinosaur who loves to play pranks, eat pizza, and play mini golf.
He is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who also voiced Captain Gantu in Lilo and Stitch, Maurice in The Penguins of Madagascar and All Hail King Julien and General Monger in Monsters vs Aliens TV Series, Mr. Gus in Uncle Grandpa and Happy in 7-D.
Biography
He started his life as a frozendinosaur in the ice that Melvin excavated from Piqua Glacier for a school project. When George and Harold tried to find a dinosaur from the Stone Age, they ended up nearly getting eaten by an T-Rex. Feeling worried that Melvin’s frozen dinosaur might be dangerous, they took it to their treehouse and placed it in front of an air conditioner. Unfortunately, they only had one outlet, and in order to watch TV, they had to unplug the air conditioner, causing the ice block to melt after a few hours of promising themselves they'd watch "just one moreepisode" of "Screaming Things".
When the ice melted, George and Harold were surprised to find that the dinosaur was actually cool and hip, and surprisingly similar to the Diddlysaurus in their comic book, even sharing the same name. They decided to put him in a disguise — a hat — and take him to school to pull some legendary pranks.However, after a while, they got frustrated with him when he planned to put "Diddly Dino-rrhea Drops" into the cafeteria food to give everyone diarrhea, and decided to leave him on his own.
George and Harold soon went back to the Piqua Glacier to excavate another dinosaur, assuming all dinosaurs were like Diddly. Before they arrived, Melvin had already been there, planning to thaw out a dinosaur using his invention, The Thaw & Order 2000. Although initially frightening, when the head dinosaur, Malison, overheard George mention Diddly, she claimed to be his friend and helped them find him. Once they found him, Malison revealed she was only his friend until he ruined her pizza business by putting the Dino-rrhea Drops in the food as a prank. She only wanted to find him again to "kick his dino butt." George and Harold tried to get Captain Underpants to use the Slush Bucket Machine to freeze the dinosaurs, but Captain Underpants misunderstood the plan. Diddly then froze Malison and the Saurus Brothers in ice with the Slush Bucket Machine, stopping their revenge plans. Diddly soon decides to turn over a new leaf and make an honest living by opening a new pizza place and helped George and Harold earn extra credit, though he still tends to pull pranks now and then.
Diddly later appeared in "The Taxing Trauma of the Tattle Trials Part 1," where his pizza place was sponsoring Melvinborg's doom dome. He also made a brief cameo in "The Heartbreaking Havoc of the Haunting Hack-A-Ween," in City Hall, where Mayor McChapper rejected the idea of adding dinosaur benches to the town park, prompting Diddly to leave.
