Emre Sarioglu is a major character in the Overwatch franchise. He is a former member of Overwatch, having served the organization during the end of the Omnic Crisis and was a close friend of Freja Skov. He had left Overwatch in favor of pursuing his own dreams of helping those in need.

Following Overwatch's disbandment, he had went missing and a bounty was placed on his head by Maximilien to bring him. Freja, who had taken the bounty, would soon discover that Emre was not only affiliated with Talon, but appeared to have been taken over by a mysterious force that causes him to go berserk.

He is voiced by Kerem Erdinc.

Personality

Emre was once revered to be a paragon and charismatic leader by his peers and the people he looked out for. His efficiency in strategic tactics and his values of prioritizing the safety of helping those in need gave him the acknowledgement and respect he deserved. The controversies that occurred within Overwatch made him lose faith in the organization as a whole and saw to it that he would pursue his own good endeavors on his own.

However, in the years since, he has been corrupted by a mysterious entity who, whenever it takes control, drives him into a ruthless, murderous machine that is incapable of distinguishing friend and foe alike. Because he has no control of himself and no recollection of his memories, he is determined to learn the truth about his current condition, even if it means having to side with Talon themselves.

• Emre is suspected to be under the control of The Conspiracy, based on his insignia being identical to theirs.
  • He is also implied to have connections with Sombra through their interactions, who has been studying The Conspiracy herself.
  • Decoding the message on his official biography appear to mention Chernabog, suggesting a connection between the two. ^[1]
