Jonathan... you're a really great brother, you know that? I know how much you gave up by saying yes to coming here. Your whole life's in Metropolis. Your girlfriend's there. Your entire identity is there, but you said yes to coming here anyway 'cause you wanted to help your brother
~ Lois to Jon about himself.

Jonathan "Jon" Kent II is one of the two deuteragonists (alognside Jordan Kent) of Superman & Lois. He is the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane and the brother of Jordan Kent.

Unlike his brother, Jonathan did not inherit his father's powers and feels slightly jealous of Jordan, who can do things he can't.

He was portrayed by Jordan Elsass in the first two seasons before being recast by Michael Bishop for the third season. Brady Droulis portrayed ihim at age seven.

History

Birth

Jonathan Kent II was born in 2006 shortly after his brother, Jordan. He was named after his adoptive paternal grandfather. When they were growing up, Clark and Lois found it easy raising Jonathan, who was always outgoing and athletic. However, they struggled with Jordan, who was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder as a teenager.

When Jon broke a rope by throwing a football, Clark took him to the fortress to see if he inherited Kryptonian powers. However, the Fortress' test came back negative.

For most of his life, Jon lived in Metropolis with his family, where he became a starring quarterback for the football team. However, every once in a while, Jon and his family would visit their grandmother in Smallville. During a trip on summer vacation, Jordan and Jon met Sarah Cushing, the daughter of Lana Lang.

After he began playing football, Jon began dating a girl, Eliza and became the quarterback for his team.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Human-Kryptonian Hybrid Physiology: Jonathan's physiology is that of a human-Kryptonian hybrid, meaning his body has the potential for the same superhuman abilities as any full-blooded Kryptonian when exposed to the rays of a yellow sun. However, his powers remained dormant for much of his life. They only surfaced during a moment of intense grief over his father's death, which triggered his Kryptonian genes. Unlike his brother Jordan, who developed his abilities gradually over time, Jonathan's powers fully manifested all at once. This might be because Jonathan had already reached a peak level of human strength and fitness, allowing him to handle and control his newfound powers more effectively. As a result, Jonathan seems to have a greater capacity to harness and adapt to his powers, making them notably stronger and more refined than Jordan’s.
