Timothy "Tim" Murphy is a supporting character in Jurassic Park franchise.
He is played by Joseph Mazzello.
History
Background
Tim is considered a dinosaur enthusiast, less so than his older sister, Alexis in some cases. Since his parents divorced, Lex and Tim moved in with their grandfather, John Hammond, in San Diego with enthusiasm. It is said that Lex and Tim often argue.
Jurassic Park
Lex and Tim are sent to Jurassic Park, which is supposed to be a children's attraction, to let them try it first. Tim then meets Alan Grant, who he admires a lot and says he has read his novel. He asks if he can go with him in the car, but instead goes with Donald Gennaro.
Tim does not like the tour at first, because he does not get to see the dinosaurs that he likes; Dilophosaurus and T. Rex. When they get out of the car, Tim tries to talk to Grant, but is ignored, but is then given the opportunity to see a sick Triceratops with him and Ellie.
When it's time to go back to the Visitor Center, also because a storm is approaching, Lex and Tim get in a car with Grant to get there. However, Dennis Nedry sabotages the power of the entire park by stealing DNA from every dinosaur and the group stops without power in front of a T. rex enclosure. Grant then gets out and goes to check, while Lex and Tim stay in the car. While they wait, Tim finds some night vision goggles and plays a prank on his sister, who takes it quite badly, but when an earthquake is felt, Tim searches for the source with the goggles, but they soon discover that it is the T. rex that escaped from the enclosure. When Gennaro runs away, Lex panics and takes a flashlight, despite Tim trying to explain to her that this way the dinosaur will find them, but it's too late. Tim still manages to lock the car.
Grant activates a rocket and distracts the T. Rex, while Lex manages to escape, Tim gets stuck and struggles to get out. Eventually, however, Grant and Lex manage to save him from the tree where he was left. But then they hide in another tree to spend the night. The group then realizes that the goat from before is missing, and Lex asks what happened to it. Gennaro contacts Grant and informs him that he needs the goat to escape, but the dinosaur is eating it.
The next morning, as soon as they wake up, Tim plays a prank on Lex with a brachiosaurus, although it backfires when the dinosaur sneezes on them. When they have to escape the enclosure, Tim is the last one to climb and jump, but he gets a small electric shock after panicking and Ellie has restored the power to the park. Tim is unconscious, but Grant saves him with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
They eventually reach the visitor center where they are reunited with Ellie, Ian Malcolm and their grandfather. Lex and Tim stay in the dining room to get something to eat, but are then attacked by raptors and flee to the kitchen in fear. They reach the control room where Lex manages to restart the security systems. The raptors, however, manage to catch up with them.
Just when they are about to be killed by the raptors, the T. Rex attacks the raptors and the group manages to escape. Lex and Tim then return home in a helicopter with his grandfather, asleep next to Grant, who he now likes.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Ian Malcolm, who has fallen from grace, comes to visit Lex and Tim in New York. They are worried about their grandfather, who has been put in a bad state because of their cousin, Peter Ludlow.
