Background
The Addams are of American origin, from eastern New Jersey, the hometown of the franchise's creator, Charles Addams of Westfield. The story of the Addams Family varies depending on the version of the franchise, which began in 1938. Their family is founded on supernatural forces; members have superhuman abilities that they use for disturbing plots of darkness and theatricality. The family motto is "Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc," always snapping their fingers in a rhythm that usually finds its way into the family's song. The members of the family have magical, dark and possessive abilities and bizarre, macabre interests, but are really well-meaning and decent people.
Even today, there are many versions of this family, in TV series and films, both animated and live-action, but they all remain the same, portraying the morbid and eccentric family.
The origins of the Addams family are not entirely known, as they appear to be founded on the dark arts.
