I'd like nothing more than to smash the Demon King. I swear that, when the Demon King returns, the Sage of Fire will awaken again. The Goron sage and the Goron people will fight alongside your swordsman.
~ Agraston.

Agraston the Goron Sage is a supporting character in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and a major character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. He was the Goron Chief and an old friend of King Rauru. During the Demon King Ganondorf's attack on Hyrule, Agraston would become the Sage of Fire, fighting alongside the rest of the Sages to fend off the forces of evil. Thousands of years later, his spirits returns to the land of the living to assist his descendant, Yunobo, in staving off Ganondorf's return.

He is voiced by Joe Hernandez, who also voices his descendants Daruk and Yunobo.

Appearance

Agrastron is a large, dark-skinned Goron with white hair . He has relaxed looking blue eyes, a long beard and long hair he ties into a ponytail with a beaded band, as well as long eyebrows. He also has tufts of white hair on his forearms, indicating that they're very hairy, as well as white nails. For clothing, Agrastron wears a white cloak with gold details signifying his alliance with Rauru, a white loincloth and a sash composed of gold and black beads. He also wears a belt buckle with the Goron insignia, and during battle wears his Envoy Mask.

History

Past

After Queen Sonia was assassinated and had her Secret Stone swept from her by Ganondorf, who uses its power to become the Demon King, King Rauru summons powerful warriors and had them assembled at the temple where it would eventually become the Temple of Time. The Goron Sage hears of the last Gerudo village having fallen under the Demon King's control. Rauru then brings them to a chamber which held the extra four Secret Stones for them to own, and once the Sages obtain their Secret Stones, they make a vow to protect Hyrule under Rauru's service.

Agraston as well as the other Sages fought Ganondorf as much as they could, but Ganondorf's power proved to be too much for them, which leads to Rauru making a sacrifice of his own life to imprison Ganondorf and holds him in place for several thousands of years. Eventually, Princess Zelda visits Agraston and warns him that Ganondorf will break free, and she will need the Goron's power of fire to support her appointed knight. Agraston promises her that he will make sure that his descendant will answer his call to destiny when the time came. Agraston later looks on as Princess Zelda consumes her Secret Stone to become the Light Dragon to repair the damaged Master Sword and to return to her time.

Present

In the present age, rocks become infected with gloom, while Yunobo was mining which would be called Marbled Rock Roast, which would result in any Goron that consumes them will fall under the gloom's influence and causes a drastic personality to shift in them. Yunobo falls victim to brainwashing by "Zelda" when she gave him a mask which two Goron kids turn to Link for help. After Link defeats him in battle, the mask breaks and Yunobo snaps out of the trance.

It was there when he hears Agraston's voice call out to him from Death Mountain, while trying to catch up to "Zelda". Once they defeat Moragia, Link and Yunobo descend into Death Mountain's crater and into the Depths where they reach the Fire Temple. Agraston instructs Yunobo to ring the gongs to deactivate the locks to give them entry to the room where "Zelda" was trapped.

Once all five locks are detached, they head inside and engage with Marbled Gohma and managed to defeat it, causing the Marbled Rock Roast to cease to exist and the Gorons to return to normal. Yunobo touches the Secret Stone that presents itself to him and he meets the Goron Sage, who commends him for his efforts and tells him the tale of the Demon King and how the Sage of Time warned him of his impending return. The presence of Marbled Rocks and his mind-control was done to prevent Yunobo from hearing his call to destiny and he must accept the Secret Stone for Hyrule's sake. While Yunobo has his self-doubts about living up to this reputation, but he accepts his Secret Stone which then attaches to his belt buckle.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Agraston is set to appear in the upcoming title alongside Rauru, Sonia, Mineru, Zelda and the other ancient Sages where they will battle against Ganondorf.
