Biography
The Legend of Zelda Series
Majora's Mask
Tingle makes his debut in this game, making and selling maps to Link in different parts of Termina. Link will usually need to pop the balloon Tingle uses for flight in order to talk with him, and the prices of his maps will differ depending on what regions he is found in. If Link shows a picture of Tingle to the Swamp Tour Guide, he will reveal that Tingle is his son and will give Link a Piece of Heart in exchange for it.
Oracle Of Ages
Tingle is found south of the present-day Lynna City on a ledge initially only accessible via Ricky and his ability to jump up ledges thanks to his kangaroo reflexes. Link has to pop his balloon to be able to speak to him and receive a sea chart to navigate the waters southeast of Lynna City, or Lynna Village 400 years in the past, to reach the next Essence of Time located on Crescent Island in the present.
Later on, Link can visit Tingle again for an upgrade to his Seed Satchel as part of the game's Linked Game features, or on normal gameplay, allowing him to carry more of the five various Mystical Seeds found in game: Ember, Scent, Pegasus, Gale, and Mystery.
The Wind Waker
Tingle is first found in the Windfall Island Jail. After Link frees him, Tingle rewards him with the Tingle Tuner to contact him whenever he wants. This is also necessary to recover the Picto Box for collecting photos after upgrading it to the Deluxe Picto Box for the Nintendo Gallery at Forest Haven. Tingle then retreats to his namesake island, Tingle Island, where Link can visit him later to have the Triforce Charts deciphered by him for a hefty sum of Rupees per chart, making visiting Tingle mandatory to collect the eight shards of the Triforce of Courage to regain access to the portal at the Tower of the Gods to return to Hyrule underwater.
