Biography
Oracle of Ages
After Veran possesses Nayru to use her powers and alter history, Link makes his way through Maku Road to meet the female Maku Tree for guidance. However, as she about to help Link, the Maku Tree begins to disappear from existence and mentions that something must be happening to her in the past before she vanishes completely. Link manages to travel back 400 years into the past and finds the Maku Tree Sprout is being attacked by Veran's minions. Link slays the attackers, which causes the sprout to become infatuated with him for saving her and says she will wait for his return when she grows up.
Returning to the present, Link finds the Maku Tree exists once again and is still infatuated with him as she tells Link about Veran's plan to build the Black Tower and cover the world in darkness. Because of Veran's meddling with the time-stream, the Maku Tree does not remember what she needs to do to stop the villainess, but tells Link if he can find all the Essences of Time, she will recall what is required to foil Veran's plans.
Link eventually gathers all the Essences hidden across the land, making the Maku Tree realize she is the Guardian of the Oracle of Ages and produces the magical Maku Seed to dispel Veran's magic at the higher levels of the Black Tower.
Oracle of Seasons
When Din is kidnapped by General Onox and the seasons are thrown into disarray, Link goes to see the male Maku Tree for guidance. He arrives to find the Maku Tree fast asleep and wakes him up to tell him about what has transpired while he slept, something which shocks the Maku Tree as he was supposed to be the Guardian of the Orcale of Seasons. Although Maku Tree wants to help Link, the disorder of the seasons has weakened him and needs the Essences of Nature to restore his strength.
The Maku Tree guides Link to locate each of the Essences until all of them are found and the tree is strong enough to produce a magical Maku Seed that will dissipate the Shadow Barrier around Onox's Castle.
Linked Game
Twinrova manages to capture Princess Zelda to use in their rites to revive Ganon. However, the Maku Tree opens a portal to their lair, the Room of Rites, which allows Link to rescue her and teleports them away to safety when the lair begins to collapse after Twinrova and Ganon's defeat.
Also, depending on which way the games are played, if doing Seasons first and Ages second, just after Link, Nayru, and Ralph return to the present and Nayru teaches Link the Tune of Time to use the Harp of Ages to freely move between the past and present, the female Maku Tree immediately becomes anxious and fearful upon hearing Twinrova before they arrive to taunt Link over their plan growing closer to fruition thanks to Veran, and hinting at the return of Ganon. Needless to say, the female Maku Tree is terrified of the dark prophecy that Twinrova has foretold, and urges Link to hurry to recover the last of the Essences before Twinrova can carry out their Dark Rites. Once Twinrova is defeated and Ganon destroyed, the female Maku Tree rescues Link and Zelda and transports them safely back to her as the Room of Rites collapses. She is initially seen laughing at seeing Link is back safe and sound, but becomes jealous when Zelda gives Link a kiss of thanks for saving her, Hyrule, Holodrum, and Labrynna from Twinrova, their henchmen in General Onox and Veran, and Ganon.
If doing Ages first and Seasons second, the male Maku Tree is deeply grieved once he learns of the severity of the situation with Twinrova and their Dark Rites to revive Ganon and urges Link to finish collecting the Essences before it is too late to stop the ritual, especially upon learning of Zelda's kidnapping by Twinrova while trying to raise hope in the people of Horon Village to light the final flame in the Flame of Despair and begin their ritual while Onox keeps Link busy. After Onox is defeated and Din freed, Link then heads to the Room of Rites to finish Twinrova and Ganon for good. Once they are slain, the male Maku Tree then sees to transporting Link and Zelda to safety as the Room of Rites collapses due to Twinrova and Ganon's deaths, returning them safely to his base where Impa, Din, and Nayru are waiting for them.
