Bumblebee is part of Apidae, one of the bee families. Like many bees, they're social insects that form colonies with a single queen as their matriarch. They have been proven to inspire the creation of several heroic characters in fiction.

Bumblebee is the deuteragonist of the Transformers franchise. He is described as the youngest Autobot in the Autobot group lead by Optimus Prime. In all its incarnations, its color is identical to yellow with black markings.
