Hero Overview

Negative Kalus minor character of Hot Wheels Battle Force 5. He is the negative opposite of the original Captain Kalus from a parallel universe.

He was voiced by Colin Murdock who voices the main Kalus.

Appearance

Like his counterpart's muscular build, he is a lion/tiger, but his armor is different, wearing white instead of grey and battle-scarred. He also carries his crossbow on his left arm.

Personality

Unlike his counterpart, he upholds honor in much higher regard and will not kill an unarmed opponent. Kalus is noble and relies on his natural instincts during battle when needed. He is also smart enough to remember enemy bases and plans, using that knowledge to reengineer technology to aid his people. Kalus values battling alongside noble warriors against the evil forces that attack peaceful worlds like his own.

Biography

Kalus fought alongside Hatch Krocomido and Sever, but they were killed by the evil Battle Force 5, leaving Kalus to make a last stand in order to protect his home planet. He needed a battle key. He spotted the "Evil Battle Force 5," he aimed his crossbow at Rhodes but chose not to harm him, which left both of them confused. Rhodes called to Force 5, noting that Kalus was present but different, and Vert figured out that Kalus came from a negative world. As Kalus stepped out of his vehicle, he spoke to Captain Klaus peacefully.

Kalus believes it's a trick, Vert, telling Rhodes to stand down, but unexpectedly, he caught even a hint of their scent and realized they were not the same. They deduced that the solar flare had come from the opposite world. Vert asked Kalus where the rest of his team he explained that they had been killed long ago, pointing out that it was the evil Battle Force 5 who had done it. As the battle raged on, Kalus supported the good Battle Force 5 while the evil counterparts began to retreat. He thanked them for their help in the fight to protect his home.

With the battle key in their possession, Kalus and the team debated what to do with it. When Vert arrived, he saw the battle key and asked if they could keep it safe in his ride. However, Kalus knew they needed it for Agura and suggested asking Sage to make copies of the key to bring back to Earth.

Upon arriving on Earth, Kalus met Sage, who noted that in his world, they were red, while Sage saw Kalus as a good version. While they waited for Sage to make copies of the key, the negative version of Vert managed to get his hands on it until Kalus caught on to the trick, realizing that this was the evil Vert.

Kalus quickly attacked the evil Vert, while Sage watched and listened as he explained what had happened. The false Vert tried to claim it was all a trick, but Kalus was determined to make Sage understand the truth. Just then, she zapped Kalus with electricity, and in a moment of gratitude, Vert called Sage "babe." This made her realize that Kalus was indeed telling the truth about the altered Battle Force 5 but they already know he not real Vert.

Kalus joined the battle, using his crossbow to fire an arrow that shattered a glass container, releasing sleep gas that knocked the evil Vert out cold. With him subdued, they found the real Vert, who had the key needed to protect both his home planet and his allies' good counterparts. He said farewell, Vert and Battle Force Five returned to their respective worlds.
