Captain Nora Anderson is a supporting character in the 2012 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops II and it's 2025 sequel Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, as well as a playable character in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

She is a U.S. Air Force captain who helped JSOC and the U.S. Secret Service protect President Marion Bosworth during the Los Angeles attack. Some time after the events of Black Ops II, Anderson joined JSOC and helps them fight against the Guild and their plans.

In Black Ops II, she is voiced by Jennifer Hale, who also voiced Commander Shepard in the Mass Effect trilogy, Sam in Totally Spies! and Bastila and Satele Shan in the Star Wars franchise. In Black Ops 7, she is voiced by Erica Lindbeck, who also voiced Barbie and Queen Amelia in numerous media, Blaze the Cat and Omochao in the Sonic franchise, Sophitia Alexandra in Soulcalibur IV, Black Cat in Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man series and Cassie Cage in Mortal Kombat 11.

Biography

Background

Not much is known of Nora Anderson's past, but she joined the United States Air Force at some point and is considered a legend due to her past exploits.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

On June 19th, 2025 Anderson was deployed to Los Angeles alongside the US Secret Service and the US Air Force to protect American president Marion Bosworth. Unfortunately, she was shot down but was successfully rescued by David Mason, Eric Samuels and (canonically) Mike Harper. While her fate is dependent on the player, she's put into an ambulance and was canonically protected by Mason, allowing her and Bosworth to be evacuated from the area.

Joining JSOC

By the 2030s, Anderson had transferred into the Joint Special Operations Command, becoming a member of Specter Two, which consisted of Slade "Razor" Barrick, Wei Lin and Axel Vermaak. The team often acted as a support unit for Mason's team, Specter One.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

In 2035, a decade following the attacks on Los Angeles, Menendez seemingly returns with the intent to finish what he started. JSOC investigates the Guild for potential connections to Raul's return and their operations in Avalon. On June 19th, Anderson and the team are sent to Japan to infiltrate the Forge by using Guild executive Toru Fukasawa. On Toru's private yacht, Specter Two find him already dead and are forced to breach the Forge by crashing onto the mainland. Anderson and the team succeed in retrieving the data for Chloe "Karma" Lynch, and manage to escape after destroying a Guild VTOL.

Anderson, Lin and Vermaak later learned that Razor was secretly a mole for the Guild, and the data sent to Karma was used to wipe off the data she already had. Despite this, Barrick was eventually killed and Specter One stopped the Guild from enacting their plans.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

In early August, she, Wei, Vermaak and Chloe were sent to the Project Synapse headquarters in South Australia and discovered Mason being experimented on by Victoria Atwood and Alden Dorne. This ultimately initiated a shootout between the two groups, but both Atwood and Dorne escaped and left David behind. After destroying Atwood's hacked Rhino, Karma discovered that the Guild is trying to recreate the C-link technology by using Mason's own. Following the rescue mission, Lynch sends Cole "Javelin" Donovan to be intentionally apprehended by the Guild so she could hack their systems.
