History
Foundation
In 2030, Troy Marshall founded Specter One and recruited David "Section" Mason as squad commander. A year later, Eric Samuels was recruited after he left the US Secret Service. For the next several years, Specter One would do several operations with Specter Two, a sister unit made up of Slade "Razor" Barrick, Axel Vermaak, Wei Lin and Nora Anderson.
Sometime following the death of Frank Woods in 2034, Mike Harper joined the team when he was asked to retire, and with him wanting to remain on the front lines, chose to work with Section once more. Sometime between 2034 and 2035, Harper sent a recommendation to Leilani "50/50" Tupuola to join the team as he was impressed with her skills.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
In June 2035, a series of terrorist attacks sparked controversy across the world, with a video of a seemingly alive Raul Menendez threatening to destroy the world in three days. Immediately after the video's released, the Guild responds with promising of providing safety and security since world governments have failed. Dubious of their intentions and the timing of the video, Marshall sends Specter One to investigate the Guild's psychological operations in Avalon. The team infiltrate the Guild's R&D facility but unbeknownst to them, Guild CEO Emma Kagan was informed of their intrusion by Alden Dorne. After Specter One obtains a data drive from a Quantum Computer, Kagan ambushes them by dousing them with a hallucinogenic toxin.
While the intention was to kill the team, they survive due to their cybernetic enhancements and Mason detonates the explosives placed on the computer. This allows the team to escape, but they suffer from vivid hallucinations from their past traumas while the toxin spreads across the facility and Avalon. In their first experience of hallucinating, Specter One find themselves in Nicaragua battling the Guild and Menendez. Upon defeating the terrorist, they come to their senses and learn from JSOC that Avalon has been evacuating citizens from the area. Fearing what the toxin could be, JSOC tasks Specter One to meet up with Chloe "Karma" Lynch and help her find their insider.
After meeting up with Lynch, the team are sent to locate the insider but experience another hallucination involving Frank Woods. Within the hallucination, Woods attempts to hunt down Menendez while expressing his trauma over being tortured and guilt over Alex Masons' death. Specter One are able to come out of it by encouraging Woods to heal from his past and speak to the insider, who reveals that the toxin is called the Cradle. Informing JSOC on the toxin, Karma sends the team to access a server farm so she can fully analyze the drive. While heading there, the team are ambushed by the Guild's sniper Priya Zaveri, but are able to eliminate the operative and obtain her access card.
The team manage to access the server farm while fighting the Guild's soldiers, but Karma explains that she needs a decryption key from a quantum computer. While Specter Two is sent to retrieve the decryption key in Japan, Specter One regroups on a VTOL and await further instructions. After Razor sends the decryption to Karma, Mason and his team are attacked by three drones and forced to land due to aircraft's damage. Karma then tasks them with shooting down the last drone to obtain its cache, as it could expose the mole within JSOC. Upon shooting down the drone, Samuels, 50/50 and Harper recall past events - the 2025 Los Angeles attack, Leilani's past trauma during an operation in Roji, Japan and Harper's lingering anger at Salazar's betrayal.
The last hallucination culminates in Harper fighting his teammates until they defeat him, and the team is informed that Razor is a mole for the Guild. The team are then sent to track Guild Dr. Gideon Falkner down and upon interrogating him, learned of Kagan's whereabouts in Avalon. Reaching her location, she ambushes them with a deepfake of Alex Mason and douses them with the Cradle, causing them to suffer another hallucination. With the help of his teammates, David reconciles with the manifestation of his father and regain their senses. Contacting Marshall, he informs the team that Kagan intends to use the deepfake Menendez and the Cradle to spread terror and gain a profit off the Guild coming in to save the world.
Learning that the Cradle is being produced at the Blackheart, Specter One overload the facility's bioreactor to end the Cradle's production. The team then fight and apprehend Kagan, who remains unrepentant over her crimes. Afterward, Marshall and Karma task Mason and his team to stay in Avalon and fight off remnants of the Guild.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0
Following Mason's abduction by Dorne by hacking into the former's C-link, Specter One remains off the field to prevent their said C-links from being compromised. After Karma and Specter Two found Mason and finished the gunfight with Victoria Atwood, she radioed in to Specter One to inform them that Dorne had yet to finish his plans with Mason and that they should hide away until they found him again.
