Personas are the titular main protagonists of the Persona franchise. They serve as a weapon for every party member within the series.
Concept
Personas are essentially manifestations of a character’s inner self, a psychological armor or alternate personality that reflects the user's true nature, hidden desires, or inner struggles. They are similar to shadows, but are tamed and able to be controlled by their real-world counterparts.
When a character accepts their "true self," they often gain the ability to summon their initial Persona, this acceptance is a recurring theme across the series. As the game progresses, their initial persona transforms into an ultimate persona, which is much stronger and powerful than their previous one.
Most personas are based on mythological, folklore, and religious figures from all over the world.
