Biography

Background

Ronal was married to Tomowari, the leader of the Metkayina clan. With him, she had three children: Tsireya, Aonung, and the newly born Pril. She was bonded with the tulkun, Ro'a, who became her spiritual sister.

Avatar: The Way of Water

Ronal is first seen when she sees the arrival of Jake Sully and his family. Though they acknowledge her with "I See you," she does not return the gesture. When they seek refuge, Ronal ridicules the Sully children for having human blood, shaming Lo'ak and Kiri by showing their hands. She and Neytiri initially don't get along because Ronal tries to undermine Jake's accomplishments, prompting Neytiri to defend him. Through silent conversation, Tonowari convinces Ronal to allow the Sully family to stay, as she agrees to grant them uturu. Ronal and Tonowari's children will teach Jake and Neytiri's children.

She later accompanied her daughter and the Sully children out on the reef, where they teach the children to use gill mantles and has Tuktirey helping her collect seashells. However, Ronal looks over and sees Kiri connecting with sea life and commanding the glowing squid, making her interest in Sully's eldest daughter piqued.

However, Ronal softens and it is notable her spirit is the one who initiated Spider, a human boy given Na'vi like traits into the People.
