The Toad Brigade are a group of Toads who help Mario in some of his adventures. They first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy and are led by Captain Toad. The group would later expand their roster by adding additional members such as Toadette.
History
Super Mario Galaxy
After Bowser lifts Peach's castle and kidnaps her, the Toad Brigade, along with Luigi, escaped from the castle and wandered across space. However, Bowser attacks them and the brigade are separated from Luigi, who later gets lost in the Ghostly Galaxy. They soon get stranded in the Honeyhive Galaxy, but Mario soon finds and saves them. The Toad Brigade helps Mario at the Comet Observatory by finding the locations of Power Stars and delivering letters. They will also travel to different galaxies aboard their Starshroom spacecraft built for them by the Lumas.

Captain Toad

The cowardly but adventurous captain of the Toad Brigade who leads them in search for hidden treasures and new discoveries. The other brigade members sometimes make comments about him behind his back but they stick by his lead during their expeditions. He appears in several Super Mario games both with and without the Toad Brigade and is the main protagonist of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
Archivist Toadette

Toadette is the only female Toad in the Toad Brigade and assists Captain Toad in uncovering new discoveries. She was once kidnapped by the treasure-hoarding Wingo in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and discovered the Super Crown which she uses to become Peachette. She also appears in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury at Lake Lapcat.
Brigade Blue Toad
Brigade Blue Toad, also known as Hint Toad, is a very smart member of the brigade, as he gives hints to Mario about the locations of Power Moons in Super Mario Odyssey. He also runs the Toad Brigade Training Camp in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Brigade Purple Toad
Brigade Purple Toad, also known as Mailtoad, is a Toad who delivers letters to Mario in the Super Mario Galaxy games. He is the only member not to appear in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
Brigade Green Toad
Brigade Green Toad, also known as Banktoad, is a Toad who can manage star bits in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Brigade Yellow Toad
Brigade Yellow Toad is a lazy Toad who is mostly seen sleeping. Despite this, he is also seen accompanying the other brigade members on their adventures.
Recruit Poplin
One of the first known members to not be a Toad, Recruit Poplin appears in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and is eager to prove themselves to the other members in the Toad Brigade. They seem to have great admiration for Captain Toad.
Mario and Company
Mario and his allies become members of the Toad Brigade in the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They can train at Toad Brigade Training Camp to earn new ranks and unlock additional courses to participate in.
