Yellow Toad is a supporting character in the Super Mario video game series.
History
New Super Mario Bros Wii
Yellow Toad appears for the first time as main hero and playable character. He alongside Mario, Luigi, and Blue Toad, are wait Princess Peach’s birthday, but then she is kidnapped by Bowser and Koopa Troops. He alongside Mario, Luigi, and Blue Toad go to rescue her. The character can be played by a second or third playable in the game, he is also seen in the ending cutscene and the credits.
New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
Yellow Toad is again among the roster of playable characters. He and the others visit Princess Peach at her castle when Bowser's airships appear and toss the visitors out using a giant mechanical hand. The four heroes must make their way back to Peach's Castle and save Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches. In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Toadette replaces Blue Toad, but you can still pick him via a button.
New Super Luigi U/New Super Luigi U Deluxe
The role of Yellow Toad is the same of the New Super Mario Bros. U, alongside with Luigi, Blue Toad and Nabbit must return to the Peach's castle and save the princess from Bowser.
Luigi's Mansion 3
Yellow Toad joins Princess Peach and friends on her trip to The Last Resort.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Yellow Toad returns as one of the twelve playable characters, and must stop Bowser and save Flower Kingdom.
Trivia
- Unlike Blue Toad, Yellow Toad did not appear in Super Mario 3D World or Super Mario Maker 2.
- He also appeared in a comic Super Mario Kun.
- He appeared in a tech demo New Super Mario Bros. Mii.
- There is a Yellow Toad who is a member for the Toad Brigade but he is considered a separate character from the Yellow Toad that appears in the side-scrolling games.
