Spikey (previously known as Spikey Mervert) is a male recommended character in Inanimate Insanity and a contestant in Inanimate Insanity IV. He is currently competing in Inanimate Insanity IV as a member of Go Big or Be Last. He was recommended by Guylan, and is voiced by Sacri.
Appearance
He is a spherical ball; one half is dark grey and the other is dark red with many spikes on his body.
Personality
In Season 1 of Inanimate Insanity, Spikey is a silent and mysterious character who usually communicates only through heavy breathing and rarely changes his expression.
In Inanimate Insanity IV, Spikey appears to be more clueless and less mysterious than before. He no longer communicates solely through heavy breathing, and he also expresses a dislike for death.
Trivia
- He is the first character in Inanimate Insanity who can fly, the second being Toilet.
- In a stream, Justin Chapman revealed that Spikey was originally going to be planned to be similar to Yin-Yang, with him having two sort of "personalities". The two different characters would've been voiced by them and Adam respectively.
- Spikey's name change was teased in a tweet made by Justin Chapman on Aug 20, 2024. In addition, since he was included in a list of characters that Justin voices, this could also mean that Spikey was originally intended to be voiced by them starting from the remaster of season 1.
- Spikey was the second of three contestants to have a new name revealed, after Bot and before Cammy.
- Spikey also appeared in Battle for Dream Island in the episode “Don’t Pierce My Flesh” as a recommended character.
- Spikey's recommender also recommended Guitar.
- According to Spikey's recommender, "Mervert" is a made-up name.

- Spikey is among the three limbless characters as contestants in the overall series, alongside Goo and The Floor.
- Moreover, he is a teammate with Goo in a team, specifically Go Big or Be Last, in Season 4, and are the only limbless contestants competing in the aforementioned season.
