Pokémon
Personality
Iono is a perky, vivacious and over-the-top celebrity. She is also tomboyish and brash, referring to herself as "boku", while also being cutesy. She has a habit of "smashing languages" together while moving animatedly, which she calls "Iono-ese".
She is also highly enthusiastic with her fame and career, particularly caring for subscriptions by collaborating with popular figures. Through her conversations with her fellow Gym Leaders, more of her personality can be seen; she has an inferiority complex to Tulip, clashes with Brassius (who claims she doesn't know the meaning of "avant-garde"), while Grusha believes that she is more interested in maintaining numbers than the content of her streams. She also used to read comments, but stopped after an incident because of "THOSE fans", implying that she is not used to negativity.
Trivia
- Her design is a homage to avatars seen on YouTube videos and Twitch streams (known as Vtubers), most notably the teeth being based on Gawr Gura's sharp teeth.
- Her defeat dialogue during her initial battle remarks about the Z-Move 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.
- Her name's pronunciation is hinted in the peculiar way she drops the "d" when she says "I 'unno".
- Salvatore, the language teacher, expresses interest in Iono's method of speech in particular, implying she has a notable grasp of language beyond knowing several ways to greet people.
- Her "whosawhatsit" phrase is referenced several times throughout the game, reinforcing her popularity as a streamer.
