Steven Stone is a playable character in Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Saphire, Pokemon Emerald, and the remakes Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire. He is the champion of the Hoenn region and the son of Mr. Stones, president of the Devon Corporation.
In the anime he is voiced by Andrew Paull in English and curently by Kenichi Suzumura in Japanese.
Appearance
Steven is a young man withlight skin, short ice-blue hair, and ice-blue eyes. He wears a long sleeved black vest with a white undershirt, black pants, black shoes, rings on some of his fingers, and red scar like tie. His key stone is pin located on his suit.
Personality
Steven is an explorative trainer who enjoys traveling. He also has a thing for study ancient and rare stuff like stones, ruins, and ancient cave paintings. He finds the past interesting and wants to learn from it.
He also cares about Pokemon and hates it when evil people mistreat them like how he and the player saved Latias/Latios from Team Aqua/Team Magma. And he trusts in his allies as he gave the player the Dive TM so they could stope Groundon/Kyogre.
Games
Pokemon Ruby & Saphire
Steven first appears in Granite Cave where May/Brendan gave him a letter from his dad, as thanks he gifts them a TM. Later on in the game he appears again after the player crosses a body of water on Route 118. After their gym battle against gym leaders Tate and Liza, Team Magma/Team Aqua awoke Groundon/Kyogre Steven and an audience consisting of other people felt the quake made by the legendary Pokemon. Steven notices the player and invites him to his home, explaining that Groundon/Kyogre has awaken and gives them the Dive TM so they could reach the legendary Pokemon.
After the threat of Groundon/Kyogre is dealt with the player challenges Steven and wins, with Steven praising their strength and their bond with their Pokemon.
Pokemon Emerald
In Pokemon Emerald Steven isn't the champion but a trainer who explores the region studying rocks and stones.
Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Saphire
As the game is a remake Steven plays the same role as in Ruby and Saphire except when he first met the player he was looking at an ancient cave painting describing Primal Reversion of Groudon/Kyogre. And during his encounter with the player on Route 118 he is approached by Latias/Latios who take him and the player to an island where Latios/Latias is being attacked by Team Magma/Team Aqua. After saving the legendary dragon Steven notices the Pokemon's liking to the player and gifts them a mega bracelet. During his battle against the player he Mega Evolves his Metagross.
Anime
Pokemon the Series Ruby & Saphire
Steven appears in the episode A Hole Lotta Trouble as an exploring trainer who runs into Max after being seperated by his friends by the angry Arron. When he helps him reunite with his friends Team Rocket plan to capture the Aaron which upsets him thus releasing his Aggron agains them.
Pokemon the Series X & Y
Sometime after Ash left Hoenn, Steven obtained a shiny Metagross along with a keystone and Metagrossite, defeating Wallace and becoming the champion of Hoenn. He soon met Alain and Marin after the latter fell into a hill. Alain noticed that Steven had a keystone and challenged him to a battle. However the battle was called off when Lysandre intervined, explaining that he wishes to study the Giant Rock with the Hoenn Champion which he agress to. They eventually found the Giant Rock with scientists being called by Lysandre much to the champion's confusion. However before they could study more about the rock a Rayquaza appears who mega evolves and challenges Alain and Steven. Though they were unable to defeat it both the Giant Rock and Rayquaza vanish.
Sometime later the Giant Rock appears thus leading the group to follow it. As soon as they approach the Giant Rock Groundon and Kyogre appear reverting to their Primal forms and battling over control of the rock. Though Alain ends up knocked out by the two Steven manages to hold his own against the two ancient Pokemon before Rayquaza appears to stop the fighting.
