Cifera, better known as "Cipher", is a supporting playable character in 2023 Science Fantasy Turn based, role-playing video game Honkai Star Rail. She was the last known legendary thieves of Dolos, one of the Chrysos Heirs, Demigod(des) of Trickery, and also the known individuals bearing the name of Zagreus, the Trickery Titan itself. She was a gentlewomanly thief with a cat-costume who had completed Zagreus' trial. She's also the friend of Aglaea, the leader of the Chrysos Heirs. While Cifera herself was the Demigod of Trickery, nobody believes her even if it's actually true.
She's voiced by Shea Fairaday in English dub, Wang Yaxin (Who voiced Xinyan in Genshin Impact) in Chinese dub, Ayasa Ito in Japanese dub, and So Mi in Korean dub.
Apperance
Cipher is a young woman with feline characteristics and petite athletic hourglass figure. She has medium-length, light gray hair with white streaks, the left side tied into a braid with a white bow while the right hangs freely over her shoulder. Her eyes are a bright cyan color, with dark blue pupils and golden rings around her irises. Her feline traits are evident by her cat ears and tail, the former covered by her hood and the latter fading from white to dark brown from the base to the end. She also has a distinct beauty mark on the upper left side of her chest.
Her outfit consists of an open-backed, black, blue-lined hooded bodysuit with gold details, which has cutouts to expose her chest and belly button as well as a white undershirt and shorts. Her shirt collar has a black choker, hanging from it a black, one-eyed cat-like accessory. Her thighs sport garter-like straps, hanging from the left side a black bow and bell, while the right has a crescent moon accessory and a blue pouch. On her left thigh is a black buckled strap, and on both her shoulders and back above her tail there are pink and cyan cat-eyed gems framed in gold. Her long sleeves fade in a gradient from black to blue, and she wears black fingerless gloves that show off sharp, yellow-painted nails. From the back of her bodysuit hangs multiple symmetrical pieces of fabric, one set short with pink and blue ruffles while the other is black with golden ends reaching her ankles, also lined in blue.
On her legs she sports metallic, golden, thigh-high armor. Her shoes, gifted by Aglaea, reach her ankles and have blue soles and heels.
Personality
Cifera is a sophisticated fortune huntress who likes playing tricks, and sometimes causes annoyance to others. Despite this, she doesn't act too much of being nuisance to others unlike her sidekick Bartholos. While being a liar, sometimes Cifera can be honest towards others, including Aglaea who can sense her mind with her golden threads. Despite having a cynical view about the Flame-Chase Prophecy, she nevertheless took part the Flame-Chase Journey and even keeping the promise from Phainon to keep the Coreflame of Kephale from the Flame-Reaver, to gain Aglaea's approval.
Story
Cifera is one of the Chrysos Heirs hailing from the city of Dolos, known as the Fallen City of Bandits. Her family was demanded to be executed for scaming a wager because of her golden blood. After becoming a wanted fugitive, she then travels to Okhema, and met and became a friend of Aglaea, who was the Demigod of Romance. While initially refusing to cooperate with the other Chrysos Heirs, she eventually realized that as she has a golden blood, she has to take a part of the Flame-Chase Journey, while claiming that she has inferiority complex for being a thief, in a world of warriors and scholars. She manages to accomplish the trials of Zagreus, becoming the Demigod of Trickery after returning the Coreflame of Zagreus.
