Aria, Canon, and Sonnet are one of the overarching protagonists of the 2020 action role-playing fantasy video game Genshin Impact.
In the story, the moon sisters gave Columbina their authorities to stop Dottore. And they were once the guardians of Teyvat before the Heavenly Principles came.
Aria is voiced by Jessica McDonald in English Dub. Canon is voiced by Jonna-Lynn Alonso in English dub. Sonnet is voiced by Sara Secora in English dub, and Ayaka Nanase in Japanese dub.
History
Old World & When Doves held Branches
During the Old World, Nibelung went to search for power, he made 3 moons in his place. He tried to make a 4th moon, but the moon failed to be made and turned into the land of Nod-Krai. These 3 moons would rule over Teyvat as he was gone. And soon came the Heavenly Principles.
After the 40 year war, the Heavenly Principles would make the moons work under them. These moons had a major importance during the First Era and War of the Funerary Flame.
The First Era
During the First Era, the civilizations of Arcadia, Hyperborea, Sal Vindagnyr, Lang-Gan, and Enkanomiya would worship the 3 moons as gods. The moons would soon bless these lands and would guide them into their beliefs.
Prior-War of the Funerary Flame
After the fall of Lang-Gan, and Hyperborea, the moon sisters tried to aid the fallen or injuired as the Heavenly Principles casted down Celestial Nails down.
War of the Funerary Flame
After the return of Nibelung, Nibelung imprisoned the sisters to the Moon's reflection and transformed their moons into weapons of destruction. Because of the act of betray seen in the eyes of the Heavenly Principles, the Eternal Moon was shattered and flung outside of the firmament. The Iridescent Moon was descended into the Abyss/Khaenri’ah. And the Frostmoon was the only remaining moon. And their chariot crashed to Liyue and formed the Chasm.
500 Years Ago prior before the Traveler’s Journey
Columbina would be born and prophecized as the new Frostmoon Goddess. Columbina would be worshipped by the Frostmoon Scions and would bless them and Hiisi Island. But it was soon revealed that Columbina would create herself by entering a time paradox to stop Dottore.
Trapped in the Moon's Reflection and visit by Columbina
After Columbina entered the Moon’s Reflection, she would meet her sisters in there and she would tell them about the future. So the sisters made a plan that to stop Dottore, they would give Columbina their authorities so that she could return to Teyvat and put an end to Dottore. Columbina would be the Trilunar Goddess of Nod-Krai and would create Kuuvahki to bless the land. Sandrone, Arlecchino, Nicole, Varka, Scaramouche, Nefer, Flins, and Lauma would devise a plan to bring Columbina back to Teyvat by using the World Formula to reach 90% and Nicole, Arlecchino, and Varka would add in an additional 10% to reach 100% and bring back Columbina. This costed the life of Sandrone as she would die to protect the Traveler. But Dottore never realized that Scaramouche’s Core was in Pulonia and that Nicole, Arlecchino, and Varka would be adding it up to 10%. As Dottore sealed up the firmament, Columbina would return and would kill him. Instead of going to live in the Frostmoon, she decided to live in Nod-Krai instead as she brought back the real Frostmoon to Teyvat.
