Skirk is the support character and a playable character in 2020's Genshin Impact. First appearing as an NPC in 4.2 before becoming playable in 5.7. She is the student of Surtalogi, one of the five sinners and the master of Tartaglia.
She is voiced by Cat Protano (Who also voiced Misha from Honkai: Star Rail) in English, Xie Ying in Chinese, Mamiko Noto (Who also voiced Yixuan from Zenless Zone Zero) in Japanese, and by Seo Dahye (Who voiced Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail) in Korean.
Appearance
Skirk is a medium tall young woman with pale skin, dull fuchsia eyes with black void-shaped pupils, and long, messy white hair with purple undersides. Her arms and legs are a dark purple as they are made up by abyssal energy. She wears a white dress, with purple designs. with a black collar in the front of her neck, a black ribbon and a headpiece with a light blue feather on it.
During Skirk's elemental skill, her outfit to a black sleeveless bodysuit which covers up her chest area, but leaves her back exposed. The bodysuit stops at the top of her legs. It also has purple glowing parts running down the sides. It also leaves her shoulders exposed.
Personality
When she was younger, Skirk was a pure, innocent and adventurous child who dreamed of reaching the stars and explore the universe, often skipping her classes to venture out in forests and nature, and she also really loved her parents. After losing her parents, people and home, and specially after being trained by Surtalogi, Skirk became stoic, apathetic, aloof and reserved, avoiding bonds and deeming the weak not worthy of even speaking to her. She is an experienced fighter, but her concept of "strength" is vastly different than that which others perceive due to Surtalogi's training. While she took in Tartaglia as a disciple, she didn't talk to him as much during their training and even after said training, barely communicated with him. However, she clarifies later on that she willingly avoids Tartaglia to avoid being too much of an influence on him, feeling that it would hinder his growth. Fighting against the All-Devouring Narwhal, which was an immense challenge for the Traveler, Tartaglia, and Neuvillette, was considered to be a short training session for her. Tartaglia, who has a considerable reputation in the Fatui as a fearsome fighter, states that he has yet to force her to use both hands in their sparring matches.
Background
Skirk was born to two parents of an unknown planet. She would often sneak away from school to look up at the sky. One day, space merchants arrived and was welcomed by her people. Several months later, Skirk was returning home from looking at the sky, she found that invaders sent by the merchants set her whole village on fire, killing everyone except her. She was saved by Surtalogi. Years later Surtalogi opened a pathway to Teyvat for Skirk to go through. Though she did not classify to being a descender.
